Refurbishment of the first floor level at the well known Dexter House London EC1 for ECT Venues: CS Group introduce the design and installation of energy saving inverter controlled heat recovery air conditioning along side heat recovery ventilation equipment working as supplementary air conditioning along side an existing building VAV type system.
When ECT Venues choose Dexter House as one of their prestigious training facilities they knew that there would be problems with temperatures in the summer months due to the high level of occupancy.
The building had a fully functional ducted VAV type system that introduced conditioned air onto the perimeter of each floor throughout the building; although this is an effective type system it was not capable of handling the heat loads from the high level of occupants and a supplementary system was required that could be interfaced with the existing system, but would not require any additional works when the seven year lease expired.
CS Group™surveying team attended site upon instructions from our client (Wagstaff Interiors) where we carried out a full site survey for the design and installation of a heat recovery system. We generated computer aided heat and loss gain calculations and designed a system that would deliver optimum cooling and heating performance.
We then offered 3 viable options for the project and pointed out the benefits and shortfalls of the different budget costs presented. The client was conscience of the initial expenditure outlay of the project, but was also very concerned about the general running costs.
CS Group™ proposed recommendations for inverter driven heat recovery systems would save them around 50% on their power consumption usage, thus reducing their initial energy expenses. Also the selected equipment would fit in with their existing VAV ducted type system.
All communications with the client and various other contractors were coordinated prior to starting by the
CS Group™ Project Manager. This ensured that there were no conflicts with the main contractors planned work schedule and that the training facility could open in the given time.
CS GROUP™ subsequently designed and installed 3NO Daikin inverter heat recovery systems with additional heat recovery ventilation units operating on R410a refrigerant.
A supervisor from
CS Group™ attended the site regularly and attended weekly site meetings during the installation.
CS GROUP™ dealt with issues that arose and made certain the job went like clockwork.
Our commissioning engineers carried full testing and diagnostics procedures to the newly installed equipment. All tests were documented, recorded and then formed as part of the 5 year parts warranty. They made good any snagging defects ahead of handing over for completion dates.
We then appointed one of our fully trained supervisors prior to the opening for business to demonstrate the operation of the equipment to the staff and issued the client with three in-depth operation and maintenance manuals for the final handover.
